HONORING David Greer upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2019 Male Volunteer
of the Year Award by the Baldwinsville Volunteer
Center on April 13, 2019
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention
to the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of
New York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
David Greer upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2019 Male Volunteer of the Year Award by the Baldwinsville Volunteer
Center to be celebrated at an Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 13, 2019,
in Pasta's on the Green at the Foxfire Golf Course in Baldwinsville, New
York; and
WHEREAS, David Greer is receiving this prestigious award for his
steadfast and unremitting commitment to his community; and
WHEREAS, For numerous years David Greer has been an vital and valued
member of the First United Methodist Church where he has served his
congregation and the community in various capacities including Clerk of
the Works, Chairman of the Administrative Board and member of the
trustee, finance and Men's Prayer Chain committees; and
WHEREAS, David Greer is also a participant of the Methodist Men's
group which is always ready and willing to lend a helping hand wherever
it is needed, whether it is for the church or their neighbor; through
the group, he helps raise funds and gleans various crops for the
Baldwinsville Community Food Pantry; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his work with the First United Methodist
Church, David Greer is actively involved with the UNY Mission Center HUB
for the Upper New York Conference of the Methodist Church which is a
place for local churches to actively engage in outreach and disaster
response ministries; and
WHEREAS, To prepare for this ministry, David Greer underwent
extensive training and became a certified Early Response instructor; he
also maintains the Mission Relief Trailer so it is ready to help
whenever it is needed; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor David Greer upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2019 Male Volunteer of the Year Award by the Baldwinsville Volunteer
Center on April 13, 2019; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to David Greer.
