COMMENDING Rose Guerrier upon the occasion of
being named a 2019 Hall of Fame Honoree by Making
the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Rose Guerrier upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., to be celebrated
at its 8th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship and Hall of Fame
Gala on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
(MIPO) is a non-profit membership organization, promoting the quality of
life of Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education,
music, character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support and scholarships; and
WHEREAS, Rose Guerrier of La "V" en Rose has been involved in the
arts and entertainment world for over 20 years; her experience began
from junior high through high school where she used her love of ballet
and dance to perform, choreograph and co-produce school plays; and
WHEREAS, Her love of art and drawing helped her to win a summer
scholarship to Parsons School of Design where she studied Illustration;
after graduating high school, Rose Guerrier went on to study fashion
design, clothing construction, and fashion history at a private college
on Park Avenue in Manhattan; after receiving her fashion degree, she
continued her studies in advertising, marketing and business while in
Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and
WHEREAS, Rose Guerrier's body of work includes: award shows,
independent film production, film festivals, media hosting, community
events, event design & production for corporate functions, and celebrity
clients such as Chris Rock, Missy Elliott, Oprah Winfrey, the late
Nelson Mandela, and numerous heads of state; and
WHEREAS, Rose Guerrier has successfully managed the careers of many
artists and bands from rock and roll, Caribbean and hip-hop music
genres, helping to catapult their careers in the right direction;
because of her love for movies, she continues to produce, write, direct
and use her cinematography skills to bring forth significant stories to
her audience; and
WHEREAS, La "V" en Rose Productions was founded and created by Rose
Guerrier 19 years ago and is one of the top production companies in New
York for event design & production, floral decor, advertising and
marketing, artist management, film/video production, PR and
communications to name a few; and
WHEREAS, Rose Guerrier was born in Cap-Haltien, Haiti; when she was
around four years-old, she moved to Congo Africa where her father was a
law professor; her family traveled a lot to many countries and cities
such as Madrid, Italy, Paris and eventually arriving at her favorite
city, New York, where she continues to call home; and
WHEREAS, Rose Guerrier has worked for many years in the communities
of New York, supporting women's issues, rights and domestic violence
awareness; in June of 2016, she accepted the position of Vice-Consul at
the Consulate General of Haiti in New York; this position she highly
regarded as her greatest platform to create bigger opportunities that
would uplift the people of her country here and abroad; and
WHEREAS, Rose Guerrier remains steadily working to help all human
beings in the diaspora and continues to fight for causes she holds dear
to her heart like cancer & AIDS research, domestic violence awareness,
autism, and human rights issues; a single mother of one child, she
enjoys giving to those less fortunate; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Rose Guerrier, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Rose Guerrier upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rose Guerrier.
