COMMENDING Dr. Max Jean Paul upon the occasion of
being named a 2019 Hall of Fame Honoree by Making
the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Dr. Max Jean Paul upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall
of Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., to be
celebrated at its 8th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship and Hall
of Fame Gala on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn,
New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
(MIPO) is a non-profit membership organization, promoting the quality of
life of Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education,
music, character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support and scholarships; and

WHEREAS, An educational leader and change agent, Dr. Max Jean Paul
began his illustrious career in education more than 15 years ago and has
remained steadfast in his commitment to young people; he currently
serves as Principal of Brooklyn Bridge Academy High School, where for
the past eight years he has provided strong leadership and vision to
create educational opportunities for students who are over-aged and
under-credited; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Dr. Max Jean Paul promotes equity and
works to ensure all students are equipped with the tools to meet the
demands of college and career readiness in the 21st century; and

WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Dr. Max Jean Paul serves as
President of The Society of Haitian School Administrators where he
brings strategic thinking and leadership to inform the goal of improving
educational outcomes for all children in Haiti; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to changing
lives and mindsets through engaging professional learning opportunities,
Dr. Max Jean Paul works with school leaders in New York City and
nationally to help inform best practices to ensure children who have
traditionally been marginalized are provided with competitive advantages
in school and community; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career in leadership, Dr. Max Jean Paul has
been a presence in the community and a voice for addressing matters on
education, justice, and equity; he continues to work to be an
instrumental force in grass roots change for helping young people attain

educational opportunity, mental health services, and support needed to
reach their college and career goals; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Dr. Max Jean Paul, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Max Jean Paul upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall
of Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Max Jean Paul.
