COMMENDING Clarence C. Buhl, Jr. posthumously upon
the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Rensselaer County at its Honor a
Deceased Veteran Ceremony on November 13, 2018

WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York,
who have served so valiantly and honorably in wars in which this
country's freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace
in peacetime, deserve a special salute; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Clarence
C. Buhl, Jr. posthumously upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by Rensselaer County at its Honor a Deceased Veteran
Ceremony to be celebrated on Tuesday, November 13, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Clarence Clayton Buhl, Jr. was born to Amy Louise
(VanBuren) and Clarence Clayton Buhl, Sr. on June 2, 1930, in Royal Oak,
Michigan; he and his family relocated to Troy, New York, where he
attended local schools; and

WHEREAS, Clarence C. Buhl, Jr. enlisted in the United States Army on
September 1, 1948, and proudly served his country as an auto mechanic
with the rank of Private First Class; and

WHEREAS, Upon the completion of his military service on June 17,
1952, Clarence C. Buhl, Jr. returned to the Capital District and was
employed as a stockman for Montgomery Ward & Co. in Menands, New York,
for 17 years; he then worked as a bus driver for the East Greenbush
Central School District until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, On June 27, 1968, Clarence C. Buhl, Jr. married the former
Rita Miaski, and together, they raised three daughters, Denise, Rebecca
and Roberta; Clarence also enjoyed spending time with his stepson,
William; stepdaughter, Rita; and later, his eight grandchildren, Sean,
Shannon, Jami, Jennifer, Riley, Grayson, Maxim, and Charles; and

WHEREAS, Clarence C. Buhl, Jr. died on February 27, 1986, at the age
of 55; and

WHEREAS, Residents of this great State must never forget the courage
with which these men and women served their country, and must recognize
that no greater debt is owed than that owed to those who gave their
lives for their beloved Nation and to those who continue to be missing
in action; and

WHEREAS, Having exhibited his patriotism both at home and abroad,
Clarence C. Buhl, Jr. demonstrated his love for his country and merits
forevermore, the highest respect of his State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, Our Nation's veterans deserve to be recognized, commended
and thanked by the people of the State of New York for their service and
for their dedication to their communities, their State and their Nation;
now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Clarence C. Buhl, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by Rensselaer County at its Honor a Deceased Veteran
Ceremony on November 13, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Clarence C. Buhl, Jr.
