CONGRATULATING Timothy G. Kremer upon the occasion
of his retirement after 21 years of dedicated
service to the New York State School Boards
Association

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the life
and accomplishments of individuals whose enduring commitment and
dedication significantly enhance the quality of education in their
community; and

WHEREAS, The American public school system is a treasured
institution; those individuals, such as Timothy G. Kremer, who work to
improve our schools and ensure that all children have access to quality
educational programs merit the highest commendation of this Legislative
Body; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Timothy G.
Kremer upon the occasion of his retirement after 21 years of dedicated
service to the New York State School Boards Association; and

WHEREAS, Timothy G. Kremer earned his bachelor's degree in political
science from Kent State University; he furthered his education by
obtaining his master's degree in public administration from Ohio State
University, where he specialized in human resource administration and
labor relations; and

WHEREAS, Timothy G. Kremer began his long and distinguished career
in education working for the Ohio School Boards Association; after
nearly 20 years, he became the Executive Director of the NYSSBA in 1998,
the position from which he will officially retire at the end of 2019;
and

WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Timothy G. Kremer, the New
York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) is the statewide voice for
the interests of public boards of education; this vital association
serves more than 675 local school boards and boards of cooperative
educational services (BOCES), which represent more than 5,200 members;
and

WHEREAS, As Executive Director, Timothy G. Kremer has led the
Association's staff of 58 professionals in fulfilling its mission of
providing advocacy, information, leadership development programs and
customized consulting services for the state's school boards; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Timothy G. Kremer is a frequent spokesman for
NYSSBA to the membership, media, and other related organizations; and

WHEREAS, Well-respected in his field, Timothy G. Kremer is a
frequent speaker at various professional workshops and seminars which
focus on association leadership, school board governance, executive
recruitment and development, organizational change and public relations;
and

WHEREAS, Timothy G. Kremer has co-authored three handbooks, one on
the school board presidency, a second on the school board/superintendent
relationship, and a third regarding school district management team
operations; he is also a regular contributor to many professional
publications, including NYSSBA's own award winning newspaper, On Board;
and

WHEREAS, This remarkable man truly believes in the children of New
York State; throughout his tenure, Timothy G. Kremer diligently worked
to improve public education, allowing students to thrive and flourish,
and provide them the tools and skills to become successful citizens; and

WHEREAS, Timothy G. Kremer has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of New York State, and accordingly merits recognition and applause
for his impressive dedication to others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Timothy G. Kremer upon the occasion of his retirement after
21 years of dedicated service to the New York State School Boards
Association, and to wish him continued success in all his future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Timothy G. Kremer.
