COMMENDING Sesame Flyers International upon the
occasion of hosting its 1st Annual Heritage Cultural
Gala on June 8, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those
events which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of cultural
diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of New York
State; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Sesame
Flyers International upon the occasion of hosting its 1st Annual
Heritage Cultural Gala on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Marine Park Golf
Course, Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Sesame Flyers International, an organization committed to
honoring and preserving Caribbean culture, provides a range of youth
development, cultural, social welfare and supportive services to
individuals and families residing in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, This vital organization understands that part of loving
children means presenting them with opportunities to acquire the
knowledge, skills, technology and equipment which will prepare them for
the challenges yet to come; and

WHEREAS, Sesame Flyers International's goal of youth empowerment is
achieved and maintained through its array of programs which touch the
lives of more than 5,000 Brooklyn residents each year, providing quality
youth development, cultural and leadership programs to shape the lives
of local youth; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, Sesame Flyers International
has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities
which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of Sesame Flyers International is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its Executive Director Curtis Nelson, and
its dedicated Board of Directors, whose involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Sesame Flyers
International; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend events which symbolize the historical, social and cultural
development of this great State and embody the spirit of the principles
upon which this Nation was founded; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sesame Flyers International upon the occasion of hosting its 1st
Annual Heritage Cultural Gala on June 8, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Curtis Nelson, Executive Director, Sesame Flyers
International.
