HONORING Amy Recco upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2019 Woman of
Distinction Award by Nassau County on May 9, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those women of achievement within the Empire State who
have made strong contributions to their communities and who inspire
others through their model citizenship; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Amy Recco upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2019
Woman of Distinction Award by Nassau County, celebrated at a ceremony on
Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City,
New York; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Massapequa, New York, Amy Recco is receiving
this prestigious award for her steadfast and unremitting commitment to
her community; and

WHEREAS, Amy Recco is the co-Founder and Executive Director of
Friends for Life, a home health care service provider which specializes
in senior health care; and

WHEREAS, For the last nine years, this vital organization has
strived to provide home care that encourages independence and promotes
well-being and support to the community's senior citizens; and

WHEREAS, The success of Friends for Life is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the institution and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Amy Recco upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2019 Woman of Distinction Award by Nassau County on May 9, 2019; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Amy Recco.
