CONGRATULATING Margaret Kastler upon the occasion
of her retirement after many years of distinguished
public service to Oswego County

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Margaret Kastler upon the occasion of her retirement after
many years of distinguished public service to Oswego County; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Oswego County since she was just three years
old, Margaret Kastler graduated from Sandy Creek High School before
earning an associate degree from Jefferson College and a bachelor's
degree from SUNY Utica-Rome; she went on to proudly serve her country as
a member of the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Upon her honorable discharge, Margaret Kastler began her
illustrious career in public service; she served as an Assessor for the
Town of Sandy Creek for 17 years, followed by eight years as its
Supervisor; and

WHEREAS, In 2007, Margaret Kastler successfully ran for a seat on
the Oswego County Board of Legislators; during this time she took part
in the New York State County Government Training Program, graduating in
February of 2010; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Margaret Kastler served Oswego
County with intelligence and caring dedication, continuously striving to
effectively fulfill the duties of her position; and

WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with
whom she worked, Margaret Kastler will be remembered for her honesty,
integrity, keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of
human problems in her official acts; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, with a steadfast and unwavering commitment to
her community, Margaret Kastler has given tirelessly of her time and
energies to countless local organizations, including Literacy Volunteers
where she has taught GED and ABE classes to adults; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary woman is a shining example of the
positive impact one person can have when they truly devote themselves to
their community and its people; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Margaret Kastler over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Margaret Kastler upon the occasion of her retirement after
many years of distinguished public service to Oswego County; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Margaret Kastler.
