HONORING Tyrell Shawn Madison upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Education Award
by Stuy Park Lions Club, Inc. on February 14, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Tyrell Shawn Madison upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Education Award by Stuy Park Lions Club, Inc. to be celebrated at
its Red and White Sweetheart Gala on Friday, February 14, 2020, at
Antun's, Queens Village, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Stuy Park Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs
International, one of the largest service organizations in the world,
and is deeply committed to meeting the challenges of public service; and

WHEREAS, Tyrell Shawn Madison is a teacher's assistant from the
Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York; he has spent the last seven
years of his life teaching and supporting the students of The Dr.
Ronald E. McNair Public School 5; and

WHEREAS, A pillar of strength within the school, Tyrell Shawn
Madison can be seen at any given time helping, assisting, supporting,
encouraging, teaching, and or listening to the students and adults
within the school's building; and

WHEREAS, With a true passion for his profession, Tyrell Shawn
Madison has dedicated countless hours tutoring students in mathematics
and reading; he also established and continues to coach the Public
School 5 Basketball Team; and

WHEREAS, The proud recipient of numerous awards and accolades,
Tyrell Shawn Madison has been named Paraprofessional of the Year three
times, as well as Basketball Coach of the Year at Public School 5; and

WHEREAS, Tyrell Shawn Madison is also a loving husband and an
exemplary role model for his three wonderful children; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Stuy Park Lions Club is in direct
correlation to the efforts of dedicated members such as Tyrell Shawn
Madison, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Tyrell Shawn Madison has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Tyrell Shawn Madison, that future generations may know and appreciate
his admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tyrell Shawn Madison upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Education Award by Stuy Park Lions Club, Inc.; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Tyrell Shawn Madison.
