COMMENDING MVP Health Care upon the occasion of
its selection as an Outstanding Community Partner by
The Food Pantries for the Capital District on
October 4, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend MVP Health Care upon the occasion of its selection as an
Outstanding Community Partner by The Food Pantries for the Capital
District, to be observed at its 7th Annual Harvest Evening Celebration
on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Franklin Plaza in Troy, New York; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1979, The Food Pantries for the Capital
District is a coalition of more than 60 food pantries located in Albany,
Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties; each year, The Food
Pantries helps fund, collect, and deliver 2.9 million pounds of food for
its food member pantries, which helps provide food to 59,000 people for
approximately 3.3 million meals; and

WHEREAS, For many years, MVP Health Care has been a strong supporter
in the fight against hunger; this compassionate company is being
recognized for its many contributions to The Food Pantries of the
Capital District, and to the people this valuable organization serves;
and

WHEREAS, MVP Health Care is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit
health insurer caring for more than 700,000 members in both New York and
Vermont; committed to the complete well-being of its members and the
communities it services, MVP makes health insurance more convenient,
more supportive, and more personal; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend MVP Health Care upon the occasion of its selection as an
Outstanding Community Partner by The Food Pantries for the Capital
District; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to MVP Health Care.
