CONGRATULATING Kathleen Palmieri upon the occasion
of earning the distinguished Gold Standard
Certification in the education profession from the
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards

WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the significant achievements in the distinguished careers of those
outstanding educational leaders, whose dedication and accomplishments
have been instrumental in developing character and academic excellence
in the young people of New York State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Kathleen Palmieri upon the occasion of earning the
distinguished Gold Standard Certification in the education profession
from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, on Monday,
January 6, 2020; and

WHEREAS, To earn this esteemed accreditation, Kathleen Palmieri had
to complete a rigorous performance-based peer-reviewed assessment
process that included a review of her teaching portfolios, student work
samples, videos and an analysis of her teaching and student learning;
and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Palmieri of Ballston Lake, New York, earned her
Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude from the College of Saint
Rose in Albany, New York, before obtaining a Master of Science degree
from the State University of New York at Albany; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Palmieri began her illustrious teaching career in
2002; currently, she is a 5th grade teacher at Karigon Elementary School
within the Shenendehowa Central School District in Clifton Park, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Outstanding educators like Kathleen Palmieri provide a
tremendous service to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring
generations of young people in their educational journeys and ensuring
success in their future years; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Palmieri has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of Karigon Elementary School, and, accordingly, merits recognition
and applause for her impressive dedication to her students; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of more than 30
years, Warren, and their two children, Jessica (Christopher) and
Jonathan, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and
rejoice in her achievements; and

WHEREAS, When she is not in the classroom, Kathleen Palmieri enjoys
Spinning, reading, writing, baking, sewing, and attending various
concerts and plays; she also adores spending quality time with her
friends and family members, especially her Mom, Eileen; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals such as Kathleen Palmieri who work to
support our proud tradition of public education by providing skills and
talents to our schools; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Kathleen Palmieri upon the occasion of earning the
distinguished Gold Standard Certification in the education profession
from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kathleen Palmieri.
