Senate Resolution No. 2761

HONORING Joan Lamb upon the occasion of her
induction into the Catholic School Hall of Fame by
the Catholic Schools Association of Rome
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals within the State of New York who give of
their time and energies in support of spiritual endeavors which aim to
benefit the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Joan Lamb has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently is
designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Joan Lamb
upon the occasion of her induction into the Catholic School Hall of Fame
by the Catholic Schools Association of Rome, to be presented during its
3rd Annual Induction Ceremony on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Teugega
Country Club, Rome, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion recognizes persons influential to
local Catholic schools and the positive influence these individuals have
had on their communities; Joan Lamb is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Rome, New York, Joan Lamb completed 13
years of Catholic education, beginning at Transfiguration School (K-8)
and finishing at Rome Catholic High School (RCH) with the Class of 1974;
and
WHEREAS, In a career with the Federal Government's Social Security
Administration which traversed more than 32 years, Joan Lamb held the
positions of Claims Specialist, Technical Expert, Project Manager of
Field Services for Upstate New York, Deputy Area Director of Upstate New
York and District Manager of the greater Utica, Rome and Herkimer area;
and
WHEREAS, Joan Lamb has previously been Manager of Ponderosa Steak
House and former owner/operator of Coalyard Charlie's Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, A member of St. Mary's/St. Peter's Parish and a Parish
Council member, Joan Lamb has been involved with the religious education
program in the parish for 25 years, she is also the RCH Class of 1974
Reunion Chairwoman; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her two sons, Jason and
Joshua (Kayla), and three grandchildren, Sofia, Juliet and Jack; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joan Lamb upon the occasion of her induction into the Catholic
School Hall of Fame by the Catholic Schools Association of Rome; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Joan Lamb.
