HONORING Kevin Dantzler, Esq. upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Jocelyn B. Mann
Youth Award by Emmanuel Baptist Church

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kevin
Dantzler, Esq. upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Jocelyn B. Mann Youth Award by Emmanuel Baptist Church to be celebrated
at its 5th Annual "EBC Honors: Coming to EBC" on Friday, February 28,
2020, in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Dantzler has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Dantzler serves New York City's youth as an employee
of the New York City Department of Education, and Office of the First
Deputy Chancellor as a Policy and Program Manager; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Dantzler believes that Christianity is not only a
noun that identifies a person, it is also a verb, requiring action;
thus, when he is asked to step-up and step-out he always responds to the
call; he has been a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for approximately
17 years; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Dantzler has served the adults of Emmanuel as a
member of the Frontliners Men's Ministry as well as the younger
congregants as a Sunday School Teacher for Junior High School and High
School age students; furthermore, he is a co-Facilitator of the
S.H.I.N.E. Rites of Passage Program; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Kevin Dantzler has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Kevin Dantzler has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Kevin Dantzler, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kevin Dantzler, Esq. Kevin Dantzler, Esq. upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Jocelyn B. Mann Youth Award by Emmanuel
Baptist Church; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kevin Dantzler, Esq.
