COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of Trinity
Lutheran Church of Glen Cove, New York, on February
29, 2020
WHEREAS, Religious institutions, and the many spiritual, social and
educational benefits they confer, play a vital role in the development
of the moral fabric of a responsible citizenry; and
WHEREAS, It is the tradition of this State and this Nation to pay
tribute to those institutions and individuals who have contributed to
the ethical and spiritual values of their communities; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the
100th Anniversary of Trinity Lutheran Church of Glen Cove, New York, to
be celebrated with a pancake breakfast on Saturday, February 29, 2020;
and
WHEREAS, Trinity Lutheran Church is a family of believers in Jesus
Christ; since its inception, the Church has diligently worked to share
the name of Jesus, and help others grow in their faith through various
ministries such as music and drama, ushers, media and technology,
marriage counseling, and Prayer Warriors; and
WHEREAS, One of the most important goals of Trinity Lutheran Church
is to spread the message of God's love around the world by sending
supplies to missionaries and supporting these missionaries; most
recently, the Church raised funds and supplies to send with students
from Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School as they traveled to
Nicaragua to aid its residents; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Pastor Travis Yee, Trinity
Lutheran Church stands on the threshold of tomorrow, prepared to meet
the challenges of the coming decades while retaining that spiritual
resolve which characterizes its past; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
enduring religious institutions and to bring such institutions to the
attention of the people of this Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Trinity Lutheran Church of Glen
Cove, New York, on February 29, 2020, fully confident that this
commemoration reflects the belief in those values which enhance the
dignity and purpose of life; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Travis Yee, Pastor, Trinity Lutheran Church of Glen Cove,
New York.
