HONORING Nicolle Munroe upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by Emmanuel
Baptist Church on February 28, 2020

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Nicolle
Munroe upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
Emmanuel Baptist Church to be celebrated at its 5th Annual "EBC Honors:
Coming to EBC" on Friday, February 28, 2020, in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Nicolle Munroe has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, A true asset to her community, Nicolle Munroe currently
serves as CEO and Creative Director of Nicolle Munroe Designs & Company
and CEO for the Honoring the Dash speaker series; and

WHEREAS, In addition to these roles, Nicolle Munroe is the secretary
and board member of the J.P. Hicks Family Mass Communication Scholarship
Fund; in April of 2020, she plans on traveling with a contingent to
Monrovia, Liberia to award scholarships to journalism students; and

WHEREAS, Nicolle Munroe also belongs to Emmanuel Baptist Church
where she is a member of the choir, ran the Chosen Women's Ministry,
founded the Momentum Ministry, and worked with the non-profit
organization Women Grow; she is also involved with the Church's South
Africa Ministry, where she sponsored and nurtured Lesego Pearl Nkosi, a
South African native for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Nicolle Munroe has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Nicolle Munroe has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their

commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Nicolle Munroe, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nicolle Munroe upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Emmanuel Baptist Church; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nicolle Munroe.
