COMMENDING The GodSquad, 67th Precinct Clergy
Council, Inc., upon the occasion of celebrating its
10th Anniversary on June 25, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend The GodSquad, 67th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc., upon the
occasion of celebrating its 10th Anniversary at An Evening of
Celebration to End Gun Violence on Thursday, June 25, 2020; and

WHEREAS, The 67th Precinct Clergy Council, founded on its religious
affinity, is a charitable organization providing relief to distressed
and underprivileged community members; and

WHEREAS, Comprised of local pastors, associate pastors, ministers,
elders and evangelists, the organization focuses on lessening
neighborhood tensions and the burdens on government, combating community
deterioration and juvenile delinquency, and acting as a liaison among
law enforcement, community members, and their congregations; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, its members support youth and crime prevention
programs, providing counseling and support to residents of the
community, offering solutions to problems arising in the 67th Precinct
of Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, The success of The GodSquad, 67th Precinct Clergy Council
is in direct correlation to the efforts of its President Pastor Gilford
T. Monrose and its dedicated members, whose involvement is, and always
has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations which enhance the well-being and vitality of their
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The GodSquad, 67th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc., upon the
occasion of celebrating its 10th Anniversary on June 25, 2020; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Pastor Gilford T. Monrose, President, The GodSquad, 67th
Precinct Clergy Council, Inc.
