HONORING Melissa Nesbit upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2018 Citizen of the
Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce
on January 18, 2019
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Melissa Nesbit upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2018 Citizen of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce,
to be celebrated at its Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Friday,
January 18, 2019, at Club 86 in Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Seneca Falls, New York, Melissa Nesbit is an
accomplished professional who works within the nonprofit community;
throughout her distinguished career, she has achieved numerous
accomplishments; she manages the Annual St. Frances/St. Clare Parish
Festival in Waterloo and was instrumental in creating the Waterloo
Rotary Farm Market, which attracts a record number of vendors and
consumers to the area; and
WHEREAS, Melissa Nesbit also helped coordinate a very successful
Masquerade Ball for Seneca Housing which raised significant funds for
veteran housing in Seneca County; in addition, through her stellar
efforts, the Rural Urban Dinner contributed to an increase in over 50%
of their donation to Food Link; and
WHEREAS, A vital member of the Waterloo Rotary Club, Melissa Nesbit
was the proud recipient of the prestigious Paul Harris Award for her
steadfast and unremitting commitment to her community; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Melissa Nesbit has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Melissa Nesbit upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2018 Citizen of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of
Commerce on January 18, 2019; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Melissa Nesbit.
