MOURNING the untimely death of Sergeant Timothy R.
Annesi Jr., committed law enforcement officer,
family man and devoted member of his community
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its
grateful appreciation and heartfelt regret in recognition of the loss of
a courageous and hardworking police officer who dedicated his purposeful
life and career in faithful service to both his family and the residents
of New York State; and
WHEREAS, It is with profound sadness that this Legislative Body
records the passing of Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr., who died
unexpectedly on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the age of 34; and
WHEREAS, A 13-year veteran of the City of Norwich Police Department,
Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr. served with dedication, loyalty and
compassion, and devoted his purposeful life and career to serve and
protect; and
WHEREAS, Born on April 2, 1984, in Norwich, New York, Timothy R.
Annesi Jr. was the beloved son of Patricia (Cleveland) Carpenter and
Timothy R. Annesi Sr.; and
WHEREAS, Timothy R. Annesi Jr. was a member of Norwich High School's
Class of 2003; he furthered his studies and went on to attend the Broome
County Police Academy, graduating on October 23, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Timothy R. Annesi Jr. began his career with the City of
Norwich Police Department on March 2, 2006; he served as a Patrolman
from October of 2006 until his promotion to Sergeant on May 30, 2014;
and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr.'s duties
included: Warrant Control Officer (WCO) Terminal Agency Coordinator
(TAC), DataMaster/Radar Custodian, Evidence Custodian, and
Yearly/Monthly report; and
WHEREAS, Since 2014, Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr. led the City of
Norwich Police Department in DWI arrests; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr. was a congregant of the
First Baptist Church of New Berlin, and a member and Chapter President
of the Central New York Gunfighters Motorcycle Club; and
WHEREAS, A beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and
grandson, Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr. was also a gun enthusiast and a
staunch Buffalo Bills fan; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Dominic "Dusty"
and Barbara Annesi, and maternal grandfather, Floyd "Bill" Cleveland,
and several uncles and cousins, Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr. is
survived by his parents, Patricia (David) Carpenter, Timothy (Kim)
Annesi Sr.; sister, Kerri (Richard) Smith; brothers, Ryan Harrington and
Justin (Katie) Carpenter; nieces, Olivia and Gabrielle Cashman, Lydia
Annesi, and Aubree Carpenter; nephews, Jadyn Carpenter and Keegan and
Elijah Smith; maternal grandmother, Pearl Cleveland; and grandparents,
Harriet and Claude Carpenter; as well as many aunts, uncles, and
cousins; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr. leaves behind a legacy which
will long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting
memory to all he served and befriended; he will be deeply missed and
truly merits the grateful tribute of this Legislative Body; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the untimely death of Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr., committed
law enforcement officer, family man and devoted member of his community;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr.
