HONORING Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara
County upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2019 Industry Insider Award for
Agriculture by the Niagara USA Chamber

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals and organizations that are devoted to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2019 Industry Insider Award for
Agriculture by the Niagara USA Chamber to be celebrated at its 2019
Awards Ceremony at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, Niagara Falls,
New York, on Friday, March 15, 2019; and

WHEREAS, The Niagara USA Chamber is proud to celebrate business
excellence in the Niagara Region; and

WHEREAS, For over 100 years, Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of
Niagara County has put knowledge to work in pursuit of economic
vitality, ecological sustainability and social well-being; and

WHEREAS, CCE of Niagara County brings local experience and
research-based solutions together, helping families and communities
thrive in this rapidly changing world; and

WHEREAS, This exceptional organization offers a wide-variety of
resources for farmers and consumers to help strengthen the local food
system; their four regional agriculture teams provide research-based
information, programs, and technical assistance to agricultural
commodity producers in Niagara County; and

WHEREAS, Through programs like EatFresh Western New York and the
Western New York Food Incubator, a wide-range of services to new and
established farm and food businesses are offered; and

WHEREAS, CCE of Niagara County's 4-H youth development program and
countless agriculture education programs help youth build a connection
to the local food system and discover agricultural career opportunities;
and

WHEREAS, Through the Niagara County Fair, CCE of Niagara County
showcases these programs and provides learning experiences to help
community members develop an understanding and appreciation of local
agriculture; and

WHEREAS, As Niagara County's go-to agricultural resource for support
with production, business management, product marketing, labor issues,
and a host of other topics, CCE of Niagara County is the quintessential

selection for the prestigious Industry Insider Award for Agriculture;
and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the 2019 Industry Insider Award for
Agriculture by the Niagara USA Chamber; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County.
