HONORING The Meeting Place upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the 2019 Business of
the Year Award by the Unadilla Chamber of Commerce
on April 28, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly recognize those businesses within the State of New York
which have positively influenced their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
The Meeting Place upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the 2019 Business of the Year Award by the Unadilla Chamber of Commerce,
to be celebrated at its Annual Dinner on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at the
Unadilla First United Methodist Church in Unadilla, New York; and

WHEREAS, In May of 2017, Dwight Mott opened The Meeting Place to
connect his community ... one cup at a time; the eatery offers residents
and visitors alike a warm and comfortable spot to meet and enjoy a great
cup of coffee or tea, a light lunch, and a variety of homemade pastries
and pies; and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Dwight Mott, The Meeting Place
truly serves as a crossroads, to create a common ground and maintain the
ties of its community through its core values: Our Craftsman Code -
Simplicity, Honesty, Truth; and Our Permaculture Ethic: People-care,
Earth-care, Fair Share; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his role at The Meeting Place, Dwight Mott
held the title of President of the Unadilla Chamber of Commerce and from
February 9, 2019, until March 31, 2019, he traveled with the Unadilla
Rotary to Lesotho, Africa, to build classrooms at a rural school in
partnership with Rotarians from that country; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges The Meeting Place's accomplishments, recognizes its
contributions to the local and State economies, and extends its highest
commendation to the business, its owner and employees, fully confident
that, in its future, it will enjoy the same sparkling success which has
so characterized its past; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor The Meeting Place upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2019 Business of the Year Award by the Unadilla Chamber
of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dwight Mott, Owner, The Meeting Place.
