HONORING Gwen Vanderveer upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2019 Female
Volunteer of the Year Award by the Baldwinsville
Volunteer Center on April 13, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention
to the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of
New York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the
community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Gwen Vanderveer upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2019 Female Volunteer of the Year Award by the Baldwinsville Volunteer
Center to be celebrated at an Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 13, 2019,
in Pasta's on the Green at the Foxfire Golf Course in Baldwinsville, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Gwen Vanderveer is receiving this prestigious award for her
steadfast and unremitting commitment to her community; and

WHEREAS, Gwen Vanderveer is always ready and willing to lend a
lending hand wherever and whenever she is needed; a professional nurse,
she has used her skills, compassion and calm demeanor to help numerous
people throughout the Village of Baldwinsville; and

WHEREAS, For 25 years, Gwen Vanderveer has taught first aid classes
and served as a medic with the Baldwinsville Ambulance Corp; for about
the same amount of time, she has driven people to various appointments
through the Canton Woods Baldwinsville Express; and

WHEREAS, This remarkable woman has also worked in various capacities
for the Female Charitable Society, and is an active member of the
Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville where she taught an Adult Bible
Study class and was a vital participant in the women's group; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Gwen Vanderveer has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gwen Vanderveer upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2019 Female Volunteer of the Year Award by the Baldwinsville
Volunteer Center on April 13, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gwen Vanderveer.
