CONGRATULATING Mary Ann Allen, Esq. upon the
occasion of her retirement after many years of
distinguished service as Chief Executive Officer of
Wildwood Programs, Inc.

WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the
quality of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and
self-worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and

WHEREAS, From time to time, society calls upon these individuals and
organizations to be recognized for the significance of their
contributions and efforts to assist others in developing the skills
necessary to be successful, productive citizens; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Mary
Ann Allen, Esq. upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of
distinguished service as Chief Executive Officer of Wildwood Programs,
Inc.; and

WHEREAS, A successful practicing attorney, Mary Ann Allen began with
Wildwood Programs as a parent volunteer several decades ago when her son
was receiving residential support from this vital organization; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Allen served as a member and later President of
Wildwood Programs' Board of Directors before becoming Chief Executive
Officer in August of 2002; and

WHEREAS, During her illustrious tenure with Wildwood Programs, Mary
Ann Allen has strategically guided its organizational structure and
service provision through regulatory challenges and changes, budgetary
adversity and staffing crises; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Allen has led Wildwood Foundation's efforts
through highly successful Capital Campaigns including the expansion of
Wildwood School and Camp Wildwood, as well as the expansion of supports
for individuals served by Wildwood from approximately 1,000 to close to
4,000 individuals; and

WHEREAS, For many years, Mary Ann Allen rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Wildwood Programs, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Allen has devoted her extraordinary talents to the
mission of Wildwood Programs through her committed and heartfelt
advocacy in the public arena on behalf of the needs and aspirations of
New York State's disabled citizens; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, John, and their
three children, Matthew, Sarah and Molly, all of whom feel privileged to
be a part of her life and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to reflect upon
those outstanding individuals who, through the maintenance of high

standards in their profession, have made everlasting contributions on
behalf of their community and have truly left their mark on this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mary Ann Allen, Esq. upon the occasion of her retirement
after many years of distinguished service as Chief Executive Officer of
Wildwood Programs, Inc.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary Ann Allen, Esq.
