HONORING Aleeia Abraham upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the BLAQUE
Resource Network on August 15, 2020

WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of individuals such as Aleeia Abraham who uphold the values
of community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize the
best of humanity; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Aleeia
Abraham upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the BLAQUE Resource Network at its First Anniversary Gala on Saturday,
August 15, 2020; and

WHEREAS, As founder and director of Prototype Music, Aleeia Abraham
works tirelessly to ensure each show produced, from its premier annual
event, the Queens Youth Music Festival, to local talent shows, is an
assortment of creativity, exciting performance, and community
involvement; and

WHEREAS, Born and raised in Queens, New York to Caribbean parents,
Aleeia Abraham began her illustrious career as a singer and songwriter;
her artistic ability, infectious energy, and organizational skills first
attracted the attention of producers and managers all over Queens; she
then found herself hosting panels, seminars, and networking events for
Sony Music, MTV, and Imagem; and

WHEREAS, Combining her artistic knowledge with a trial-by-fire
industry experience, Aleeia Abraham is determined to create an avenue
for young talent from Queens to reach their highest potential with
proper guidance, care, and mentorship; and

WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Aleeia Abraham, Prototype
Music and the Queens Youth Music Festival continues to grow, providing
both positivity and tremendous opportunities to local children from
underserved communities; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Aleeia Abraham is a long-time active member of both the
Eastern Queens Alliance and The Merchants Association of Rosedale; in
this capacity, she works with the local non-profit organization Homes
for Homeless to provide regular youth music workshops to youth living in
the Saratoga Family Inn; and

WHEREAS, A caring, competent and committed leader, Aleeia Abraham's
character and integrity are the hallmarks of her life and work as a
mentor, a community volunteer and as a person; and

WHEREAS, The Queens community is indeed fortunate and blessed to
have such a dedicated and respected leader; her wisdom and contributions
reach countless children, truly making a difference in their lives; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Aleeia Abraham has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Aleeia Abraham, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Aleeia Abraham upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the BLAQUE Resource Network, and to wish her continued
success in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Aleeia Abraham.
