CONGRATULATING Joseph Zambon, DDS, PhD, upon the
occasion of his retirement after 39 years of
distinguished service as the Dean of the School of
Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Joseph Zambon, DDS, PhD, upon the occasion of his
retirement after 39 years of distinguished service as the Dean of the
School of Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Joseph Zambon has professionally served the School of
Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo for nearly four decades;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Joseph Zambon earned his DDS and PhD in oral biology at
the University at Buffalo and his bachelor's degree in biology at St.
John Fisher College; and
WHEREAS, Under the impactful leadership of Dr. Joseph Zambon, the
school has attracted the highest number of applicants in its history,
was ranked among the top dental schools in the country and the ninth
best dental school in the world; and
WHEREAS, An internationally recognized expert on oral microbiology,
Dr. Joseph Zambon is a prolific researcher who has authored or
co-authored more than 200 scholarly papers, including three of the most
highly cited papers in dentistry; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Joseph Zambon served as a dental officer in the United
States Navy Dental Corps and held the rank of Lieutenant Commander; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong native of New York, Dr. Joseph Zambon was born
in Batavia, raised his family in Williamsville, and currently resides in
East Aurora; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Dr. Joseph Zambon has served his
patients with compassion and care; he has contributed to the maintenance
and enhancement of the highest professional standards, sharing with
others his knowledge and expertise, as well as his dedication and
commitment to quality health care; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Dr. Joseph Zambon upon the occasion of his retirement, and
to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Joseph Zambon.
