COMMENDING former Senator Kathleen A. Marchione
for her illustrious service as a dedicated political
leader and strong advocate for the people of the
State of New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals of distinguished purpose whose lives have been
committed to public service and the pursuit of excellence in the conduct
of the legislative process in this noble Empire State; Kathleen A.
Marchione is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend former Senator Kathleen A. Marchione for her illustrious service
as a dedicated political leader and strong advocate for the people of
the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Prior to serving the State of New York, Kathleen A.
Marchione held the positions of Town Clerk and Town Supervisor in
Halfmoon before becoming Saratoga County Clerk; and

WHEREAS, Senator Kathleen A. Marchione was then elected in 2012 to
represent the Eastern New York residents of the 43rd Senate District,
the esteemed position she held until 2018; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Senator Kathleen A. Marchione's
legislative agenda included delivering tax relief for families and small
businesses, and cutting spending; she was also a staunch advocate in her
fight to preserve the 2nd Amendment; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to serving all
New Yorkers, Senator Kathleen A. Marchione sponsored a bi-partisan
legislative resolution observing Down Syndrome Awareness Day in the
State of New York; she also had the honor of speaking at the United
Nations' World Down Syndrome Day Conference; and

WHEREAS, Senator Kathleen A. Marchione was the recipient of the No
One Left Behind Award by the Rensselaer County Heroes at Home, the
Clifton Park Republican Committee's Chairman's Award, and was named the
2013 Legislator of the Year by the New York State Rifle and Pistol
Association, and the 2014 Legislator of the Year by the Shooter's
Committee on Political Education; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen A. Marchione resides in Halfmoon, New York, with
her husband, Frank; she is the proud mother of two children and one
stepchild, and the loving grandmother of four grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Every citizen in New York State has most certainly
benefited, in one way or another, from the deep dedication, intelligence
and commitment former Senator Kathleen A. Marchione brought to her work
as a legislator, loyal friend, and trusted advisor; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to reflect upon
those outstanding individuals who have made everlasting contributions on
behalf of their fellow man and have truly left their mark on this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
recognize and applaud the many accomplishments of former Senator
Kathleen A. Marchione, and to wish her well in all her future endeavors;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to former New York State Senator Kathleen A. Marchione.
