CONGRATULATING Supervisor Scott Aubertine upon the
occasion of his retirement after more than 35 years
of distinguished service to the Town of Lyme, New
York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Supervisor Scott Aubertine upon the occasion of his
retirement after more than 35 years of distinguished service to the Town
of Lyme, New York; and
WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Scott Aubertine gave
tirelessly of his time and energies as a steadfast public servant to the
citizens of the Town of Lyme, New York, providing his beloved community
with exceptional counsel and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, which traversed more
than three decades, Scott Aubertine was a member of the Lyme Central
School District School Board, a Village of Chaumont Trustee and most
recently, Town of Lyme Supervisor, the esteemed position he held for 14
years until his retirement in 2021; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Scott Aubertine worked alongside fellow
elected officials and the community to grow the Town of Lyme, attracting
new businesses and residents to the area; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Scott Aubertine made transparency and
constituent involvement priorities, regularly convening special
committees of town officials and residents to discuss solutions to
issues facing the Town of Lyme; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Scott Aubertine was instrumental in
countless initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for
residents of the community, including the acquisition of Salt Bay in the
Village of Chaumont, which will soon be transformed into a town park
named Veterans Memorial Public Park; and
WHEREAS, A true highlight of Scott Aubertine's time as Supervisor
was leading the Town of Lyme's Bicentennial Anniversary in 2018, an
event which celebrated the municipality's heritage and the spirit of a
vibrant, growing community; and
WHEREAS, Through his dedication and tireless efforts, Scott
Aubertine has helped make the Town of Lyme a place where families want
to live, tourists want to visit, and businesses want to locate; his
unwavering commitment, willingness and ability to understand and respond
to the concerns of the people of Lyme, have made a substantial
contribution to the betterment of this community; and
WHEREAS, For more than 35 years, Scott Aubertine rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Lyme, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Scott Aubertine over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Scott Aubertine upon the occasion of his retirement after
more than 35 years of distinguished service to the Town of Lyme, and to
wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Scott Aubertine.
