MOURNING the death of Brandon Wilson, Port
Washington police officer, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its
grateful appreciation and heartfelt regret in recognition of the loss of
a courageous police officer who dedicated his purposeful life and career
in faithful service to his family and to the residents of Port
Washington, New York; and
WHEREAS, Brandon Wilson died from injuries sustained in a car crash
on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the age of 34; and
WHEREAS, Brandon Wilson distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, Ever since he graduated from the Westchester County Police
Academy on May 26, 2017, Officer Brandon Wilson devoted himself to
public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing
for the care and welfare of the citizens of his community and this great
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Officer Brandon Wilson, by virtue of
his commitment and dedication, commanded the respect and admiration of
his fellow officers and community for his exemplary contributions and
service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, Officer Brandon Wilson will be sorely missed by his family,
friends, brothers and sisters in blue, community, and New York State as
a whole; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Brandon Wilson leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Brandon Wilson, Port Washington police officer,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Brandon Wilson.
