COMMENDING Chris Fallica upon the occasion of
being inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those individuals who have distinguished themselves through their
exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Chris Fallica upon the occasion of being inducted into the
Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Every year, the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame publicly
commends the pursuit of athletic excellence, recognizes those who have
excelled, and strives to preserve Suffolk County's rich athletic
heritage; Chris Fallica is truly deserving of this prestigious award;
and

WHEREAS, Chris "The Bear" Fallica is a behind the scenes production
coordinator for ESPN's "College GameDay," college football's
longest-running and award-winning pregame show; in this capacity, he
provides vital information for the on-air and production crews leading
up and during each week's telecast; and

WHEREAS, In addition, each week, Chris Fallica suggests three games
to bet on during "College GameDay," along with picks on ESPN+; he also
asks trivia questions on "Saturday Night Football," and occasionally,
will cover college basketball and soccer for ESPN including when he
covered the 2010 World Cup as a production assistant; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from Westhampton Beach High School, Chris
Fallica earned his bachelor's degree in both broadcast journalism and
history at the University of Miami; during this time, he became an avid
fan of the Hurricanes, and worked in the sports information office,
learning and perfecting his craft; and

WHEREAS, Chris Fallica was introduced to sports commentator Mike
Breen, which led to an internship at WFAN; from there, he earned a
full-time position as a researcher for ESPN Radio; and

WHEREAS, Chris Fallica has clearly made a contribution to the spirit
of excellence which is a tradition of his Suffolk community; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such outstanding accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Chris Fallica upon the occasion of being inducted into the
Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chris Fallica.
