HONORING Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club and
Foundation upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Organization of the Year Award by
the Clarence Chamber of Commerce on March 3, 2022
WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
outstanding organizations which distinguish themselves in serving the
community and its residents, and which warrant special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club and Foundation upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the Organization of the Year Award by
the Clarence Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 49th Annual
Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Samuel's Grande Manor in
Clarence, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club and Foundation is
receiving this prestigious award for its steadfast and unremitting
commitment to its Clarence community; and
WHEREAS, For over 30 years, the Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary and its
foundation have concentrated on providing support to organizations that
assist children and local and global service projects which improve the
life conditions for people of all ages and cultures and further promote
world understanding and peace; and
WHEREAS, Even during the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, the Eastern
Hills Sunrise Rotary Club has continued to give back to its community by
donating funds to various local and rotary-based charities, including
those working to provide veteran assistance, support for addictions,
vital medical care and organ transplant services; supporting the local
children and senior groups through the donation of face masks and other
needed equipment; working with local restaurants to raise the spirits of
first responders and the valued staff at the Brothers of Mercy, by
providing 'Buffalo styled' nourishment during the height of the initial
outbreak; and donating much needed nutritional support and volunteers to
the Resurrection Life food pantry and St Vincent de Paul; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club
has been actively involved in many Clarence community events such as the
"Remember Flight 3407 5K" races; this vital organization also installed
a playground for local children, donated a reading bench at the public
library, made numerous donations to Western New York's new Explore &
More Children's Museum, supported the Clarence youth bureau, and the
entire Western New York community as a whole, whether it be volunteering
for Meals on Wheels or Habitat for Humanity, or providing financial
support of victim assistance programs like those of the Center for
Missing & Exploited Children; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is,
and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club and Foundation upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Organization of the Year
Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club and Foundation.
