CONGRATULATING Francine Tancer upon the occasion
of celebrating her 100th Birthday

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge
to the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their
past contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commemorate
and recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Francine Tancer upon the occasion of her 100th Birthday to
be celebrated Monday, March 14, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Born on March 14, 1922, Francine Tancer was married to the
love of her life, Michael Tancer, for more than five decades, during
which time they enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and traveling the
world; and

WHEREAS, Francine Tancer, with her zest for life, has inspired and
enhanced the lives of her family and friends; she is the proud mother of
two daughters, Sue and Joan, mother-in-law to Les, and the loving
grandmother to two grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric, as well as three
great-grandchildren, Drew, Carly and Dylan; and

WHEREAS, The true definition of a lifelong learner, Francine Tancer
continues to enjoy taking an art lecture or finance class, and can often
be found conversing with family and acquaintances on politics and world
events; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Francine Tancer has been involved in the United Jewish
Appeal, Hadassah and Ort for many years; a woman of valor, she grew up
volunteering in everything she could from a girl scout leader to
leadership in her synagogue; and

WHEREAS, While she is passionate about many things, above all her
greatest passion is her family; and

WHEREAS, This exceptional centenarian has enriched the lives of
those around her through her joyous and sincere love for others and
through the quiescent charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness
of years; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have
witnessed and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and
awesome achievements of this country during the last century, while
themselves contributing to the growth and excellence of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Francine Tancer upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th
Birthday; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Francine Tancer.
