CONGRATULATING Mark Mannix upon the occasion of
his retirement after 22 years of distinguished
service to Metro-North Railroad
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Mark Mannix upon the occasion of his retirement after 22
years of distinguished service to Metro-North Railroad; and
WHEREAS, Mark Mannix earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in political
science and government from Iona College and his Master of Business
Administration degree in management from Fordham Gabelli School of
Business; and
WHEREAS, After working in the legal and financial sectors, Mark
Mannix served as the Chief of Staff in the New York State Senate for
five years; and
WHEREAS, Mark Mannix then began his long and distinguished career
with Metro-North Railroad as Director of Government and Community
Relations in 2000; eight years later, he was promoted to Senior Director
of Corporate and Public Affairs; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Mark Mannix oversaw the railroad's
internal and external communications, marketing/advertising, employee
recognition programs, filming and production, and business development
efforts; and
WHEREAS, Most recently, Mark Mannix held the title of Senior
Director of External Affairs for Metro-North Railroad in the External
Affairs Tower at Metropolitan Transportation Authority Headquarters; and
WHEREAS, Mark Mannix is looking forward to hitting the links more,
and spending time with his wife, Dominique, their daughter, Caroline,
and his many brothers and sisters and their families, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, For the past 22 years, Mark Mannix rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Metro-North Railroad; in his
leadership positions, he served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Mark Mannix was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with Metro-North Railroad, Mark Mannix
earned the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mark Mannix upon the occasion of his retirement after 22
years of distinguished service to Metro-North Railroad, and to wish him
great success in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mark Mannix.
