CONGRATULATING Team Brown of the Utica Curling
Club upon the occasion of capturing the 2021 United
States Women's Curling Association Senior Women's
National Championship

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those exemplary athletes and organizations that excel in club athletics,
distinguishing themselves through notable achievements and representing
the great Empire State with pride and determination; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Team Brown of the Utica Curling Club upon the occasion of
capturing the 2021 United States Women's Curling Association Senior
Women's National Championship; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1947, the United States Women's
Curling Association (USWCA) has remained true to its mission of
developing, nurturing, and promoting the sport of curling among today's
women and all youth; and

WHEREAS, In addition, USWCA is committed to traditions of service to
women and curling while embracing organizational changes that best serve
its members, its volunteers, and its reputation in the curling
community; and

WHEREAS, The Senior Women's Bonspiel is an annual event attended by
women 55 years of age and older from member clubs in each of the four
geographic regions of the nation; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, Team
Brown of the Utica Curling Club finished undefeated in a field of 32
teams from 11 different states to win the Senior Women's National
Championship on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Denver Curling Club in
Golden, Colorado; and

WHEREAS, Team Brown was comprised of Skip Cindy Brown, and veterans,
Carol Jones, Barb Felice, and Kathy Palazzoli; and

WHEREAS, All of the outstanding athletes on Team Brown have clearly
utilized dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
club; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of Team Brown: Skip Cindy Brown, Carol Jones,
Barb Felice, and Kathy Palazzoli; and

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of Team Brown.
