COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of the Village
of Bronxville Memorial Day Parade on May 30, 2022
WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York,
who have served so valiantly and honorably in wars in which this
country's freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace
in peacetime, deserve a special salute from this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend events which symbolize the historical, social and cultural
development of this great State and embody the spirit of the principles
upon which this Nation was founded; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Village of Bronxville Memorial
Day Parade and Ceremony to be held on Monday, May 30, 2022; and
WHEREAS, The 100th Memorial Day Parade which will include local
bands, civic organizations, local dignitaries, first responders, and
antique cars, will commence at Leonard Morange Square and end at the
Bronxville School, where services will be held to honor military
personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces;
following the services, an honorary ceremony will be held at the local
cemetery; and
WHEREAS, As we observe and remember our deceased veterans on
Memorial Day, we recall their brave and noble deeds which have served to
maintain our most precious and cherished freedoms and honor those who
continue to work diligently to support and sustain them; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Village of Bronxville Memorial
Day Parade on May 30, 2022; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary C. Marvin, Mayor, Village of Bronxville.
