CONGRATULATING Mark Verdile upon the occasion of
his retirement after more than 30 years of
distinguished service to the State of New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
reward those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Mark Verdile upon the occasion of his retirement after more
than 30 years of distinguished service to the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, The best public servants are those who take their roles and
responsibilities seriously and look to enhance the quality of their
work; Mark Verdile is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career with the New York State
Legislature, which traversed more than three decades, Mark Verdile has
consistently displayed these attributes and many others while serving in
both the Senate and Assembly; and

WHEREAS, Having shown himself to be an exemplary videographer,
lighting, and sound expert, Mark Verdile has put these skills to use to
raise the standard of audiovisual services in the state Senate, and to
help keep New Yorkers informed; and

WHEREAS, As an enthusiastic collaborator and coworker, he has helped
mentor scores of burgeoning video producers and graphic artists, as well
as cultivating a reputation as a selfless, thoughtful mentor; and

WHEREAS, For a myriad of reasons, including his personality,
generosity and hospitality, Mark Verdile's office in Conference Services
has been a consistent source of late-night conviviality and congregation
during late Legislative Session nights in March and June; and

WHEREAS, Travel has been a source of interest and activity for Mark
Verdile, both through his efforts in the Senate and many journeys on his
own free time; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Nancy, and their
three children, Olivia, Alicia and Anthony, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, For more than 30 years, Mark Verdile rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the New York State Legislature,
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mark Verdile upon the occasion of his retirement after more
than 30 years of distinguished service to the State of New York, and to
wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mark Verdile.
