CONGRATULATING Perry T. Dewey III upon the
occasion of his retirement after seven years of
dedicated service as District Superintendent for
DCMO BOCES
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those outstanding
educational leaders, whose dedication and achievements have been
instrumental in developing character and academic excellence in the
young people of New York State; and
WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Perry
T. Dewey III upon the occasion of his retirement after seven years of
dedicated service as District Superintendent for DCMO BOCES to be
celebrated with a party held in his honor on Friday, June 17, 2022, at
the Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich, New York; and
WHEREAS, A Certified New York State Education Department School
District Administrator, Perry T. Dewey III was appointed by the Delaware
Chenango Madison Otsego (DCMO) BOCES Board of Education in 2016 to
fulfill the leadership role as District Superintendent for the BOCES;
and
WHEREAS, Perry T. Dewey III began his educational career in 1980 as
an agriculture teacher in Sherman, New York, and was later employed by
the Tompkins Seneca Tioga (TST) BOCES serving as Principal of Career and
Technical Education and then by Cornell University as Director of the
Cornell Agriculture Outreach and Education Program; and
WHEREAS, Prior to becoming the District Superintendent of DCMO
BOCES, Perry T. Dewey III served as Superintendent of Madison Central
School; and
WHEREAS, His signature project at DCMO BOCES was the Career
Destinations Program, a proactive approach to retaining graduates in the
region and guiding students to find rewarding career destinations; and
WHEREAS, Perry T. Dewey III's commitment to the development of the
strategic plan and implementation of its initiatives will be recognized
as his largest contribution to the BOCES organization; and
WHEREAS, In his new retirement role as family man, the rewards of
spending more time with his two daughters, Theresa and Danielle, and the
grandchildren will be a full-time endeavor; and
WHEREAS, As a knowledgeable and highly skilled District
Superintendent, Perry T. Dewey III has improved the quality of education
at DCMO BOCES by leading and supporting staff with enthusiasm,
cultivating a positive and stimulating school environment for his
students, and creating a greater sense of community; and
WHEREAS, Educators like Perry T. Dewey III provide a tremendous
service to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of
young people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in
their future years; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who have worked to support our proud
tradition of public education by providing their skills and talents to
our schools; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Perry T. Dewey III upon the occasion of his retirement, and
to wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Perry T. Dewey III.
