HONORING Officer Guy Danella upon the occasion of
his retirement after many years of dedicated service
in law enforcement

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers who would devote themselves to public
service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing for the
care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this great
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and devotion,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Officer Guy
Danella upon the occasion of his retirement after many years of
dedicated service in law enforcement; he is officially retiring after 17
years of faithful service to the New York Mills Village Police
Department; and

WHEREAS, Guy Danella graduated from New Hartford Senior High School
in 1989; and

WHEREAS, After high school, Guy Danella attended the Mohawk Valley
Police Academy; while he was at the academy, he worked as an Oneida
Corrections Deputy; and

WHEREAS, In 2000, Officer Guy Danella graduated from the Mohawk
Valley Police Academy and took employment with the Oneida County
Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff of Road Patrol until 2002; and

WHEREAS, For the next two years, Officer Guy Danella worked for the
Oneida County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff of DWI Patrol where
he completed over 300 DWI arrests from 2004-2021; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Officer Guy Danella has
served as: a Field Training Officer, General Topics Instructor,
Standardized Field Sobriety Instructor, Evidence Room Manager, Police
Crime Field and Evidence Specialist, Evidence Technician, and Passenger
Safety Technician; and

WHEREAS, Officer Guy Danella has been the recipient of numerous
awards and accolades, including: the Meritorious Award, Exceptional
Service Award, Life Saving Award, 10-year Service Award, Educational
Achievement Award, The Patriot Award, two DWI Department Awards from
Oneida County Sheriff's Department, and seven DWI Department Awards from
the New York Mills Village Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Officer Guy Danella enjoys spending time at his camp on the
St. Lawrence River, fishing and diving; he also obtained his Captains
license in March of 2020 and works for Tow Boat USA; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Rhonda, his
daughter, Alexandra, and two stepchildren, Lexi and Ryan, all of whom
feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Officer Guy Danella upon the occasion of his retirement, and to
wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Officer Guy Danella.
