Senate Resolution No. 2830

COMMENDING Stephen G. Bondi in recognition of
completing his 8-year term as Board President of the
Safe Center Long Island

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Stephen G. Bondi has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Stephen G.
Bondi in recognition of completing his 8-year term as Board President of
the Safe Center Long Island to be celebrated with a Reception held in
his honor on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Safe Center's Courtyard in
Bethpage, New York; and

WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, the Safe Center Long Island
protects, assists and empowers victims of family violence and sexual
assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and
perpetuate abuse; and

WHEREAS, Stephen G. Bondi is the Chief Compliance Officer & Chief
Financial Officer for Mittleman Investment Management, LLC; prior to
joining the firm in July of 2016, he was the Chief Operating Officer of
van Biema Value Partners, LLC for six years, where he oversaw all
non-investment aspects of their business; and

WHEREAS, Before joining van Biema, Stephen G. Bondi served as
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance
Officer for Asset Alliance Corporation for nearly 10 years; before that,
he was Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration at GAMCO
Investors, Inc. for approximately 18 years where he served in various
executive and board positions and was significantly involved with the
firm's accounting, finance, tax, compliance, and operations; and

WHEREAS, Stephen G. Bondi received a BBA from Hofstra University and
an MBA from Columbia Business School; he began his illustrious career as
an Accountant at Spicer & Oppenheim; and

WHEREAS, Currently, Stephen G. Bondi is a member of the Board of
Directors of Teton Advisors, Inc. (OTC Pink: TETAA); he is also on the
Board of Directors and is a member of the Executive Committee of The
Safe Center LI, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Stephen G. Bondi has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Stephen G. Bondi has
displayed throughout his life; and


WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Stephen G. Bondi, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Stephen G. Bondi in recognition of completing his 8-year term as
Board President of the Safe Center Long Island; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Stephen G. Bondi.
