Senator Thomas Hosts Housing Fair in Hempstead

Senator Thomas leads a Q&A discussion on the state's new housing laws.

(Hempstead, NY) -- On Wednesday, State Senator Kevin Thomas hosted a ‘Hempstead Housing Fair’ at the Hempstead Public Library to provide residents with information on the state’s new affordable housing and tenant protection laws.

Senator Thomas led a Q&A session with an audience of over 60 Hempstead residents focused on housing-related questions and concerns. Representatives from Nassau Suffolk Law Services, the Office of Community Development, the Town of Hempstead, the Village of Hempstead Housing Authority, and Long Island Housing Services, Inc. were present to provide attendees with additional information and service referrals.

“Every person deserves access to affordable, secure housing,” said Senator Thomas. “The Housing Fair was a great opportunity to discuss how New York’s new laws can help residents, and hear their concerns and questions about housing in their own communities.”
