2018 "Best in Town" Photo Contest

October 03, 2017

Is photography your passion, hobby, or an elective class you are taking? Or do you think you have an eye for what is The Best in Town?  Senator Kemp Hannon invites all high school students (Grades 9-12) to participate in our Best in Town photo contest, celebrating your town and its unique character as part of the Sixth Senate District that encompasses your community.

There is no fee to enter. The deadline for the contest is March 1, 2018.  Once the contest has ended, we will reach out to the winning students who will be invited to a ceremony where they will be recognized. Entrants must be enrolled in a high school located within the Sixth Senate district or be a high school age resident of the district to enter this contest.   All photos submitted must be taken by the student within the last year and must be appropriate for posting on a public or government website.  Offensive or otherwise inappropriate content will not be considered. Images should be submitted in .jpg format (at high quality).

A student may submit only one photo in this contest and choose one of the following four categories:

  • People
  • Places
  • Pets
  • Nature

By entering the contest, you agree to have your submitted photograph displayed on Senator Kemp Hannon’s websites or for use in community mailers and retain copies of the photograph for archival purposes.  All published photos will be attributed to the photographer.

Entries will only be accepted through the link on this page. Entries will be judged based on photographic quality and creativity. All contest decisions are final. Contest winners will be notified by mail. Winning photographs, along with the photographer's name and information about the photo, will be displayed on Senator Kemp Hannon’s websites.
