Report of the Joint Advisory Board on Broadcast of State Government Proceedings

On October 30, 2009, the Joint Advisory Board released a report to the Legislative Leaders, pursuant to Joint Rule IV. The Joint Advisory Board is Co-Chaired By Senator José M. Serrano and its members include Senators Andrea Stewart-Cousins, David J. Valesky and John J. Bonacic.

The report's key recommendation is the transformation of the existing dedicated legislative television channel into a fully independent New York State government affairs channel modeled after C-SPAN, which exists in states like California, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, to broadcast a comprehensive array of state government and public policy material.
