Elmira, N.Y., September 20—New York State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats) and Assemblyman and Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) will hold two community meetings in Schuyler County on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
In a joint statement, O’Mara and Palmesano said, “We hope local residents will continue to take advantage of these community meetings to learn more about and contribute to the challenges facing our region and state, including the heroin and opioid crisis, job creation, high taxes and overregulation, mandate relief, health care, education, transportation, and so many others. Community meetings offer an opportunity for the direct give and take that’s fundamental to effective government.”
Thursday’s meetings will be held at the:
> Hector Town Hall (5097 State Route 227, Burdett) from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and
> Orange Town Hall (899 Hornby Road, Beaver Dams) from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The area lawmakers said the meetings are informal and open to the public to give local residents an opportunity to directly share their concerns, opinions, and suggestions for better government. They stressed that any local residents unable to attend a meeting can contact them directly to share specific concerns and suggestions.
