On May 5th, Rev. Dr. Robert M. Waterman and members of the African American Clergy and Elected Officials Organization (AACEO) honored Senator Montgomery at their Breakfast Legislative Empowerment Session.
Public Advocate Letitia James, Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, former Assemblywoman Annette Robinson, former Assemblyman Darryl Towns, Assemblywoman Latrice Walker, Councilmember Robert E. Cornegy, Jr., Judge Robin K. Sheares, NYPD Assistant Chief Jeffrey Maddrey were among the special guests in attendance to pay tribute to Senator Montgomery's distinguished legacy of service.
AACEO was started in 1989 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Waterman and meets monthly at Antioch Baptist Church in Brooklyn. The organization has spearheaded efforts to build collaborative opportunities and strengthen ties between clergy, community stakeholders and elected officials.
AACEO serves as a conduit for networking and information sharing between all levels of governments and faith-based institutions to address issues important to African Americans and communities of color.
