This is the bi-weekly report on the New York State Senate’s web presence. Last week the website received a total of 44647 visits, up by nearly 1,100 since the last report. It had a bounce rate of 50%, higher than it’s long term average of 42%, but lower than the last report, and new visitors 69% of the time, higher than the long term average of 66%, but also lower than the last report. The all time graph at the bottom of the first page shows that the average level of website activity has risen since the commencement of session in January and is experiencing similar amounts of activity as it experienced last year during session.
The live webcasting has drawn just under 556,000 views since it’s adoption and the archived footage has followed that growth very closely. The NYSenate Youtube channel has once again fallen slightly behind Livestream with 551131 overall visits. The short clips on the NYSenate Youtube account are about 16 times more watched than the full videos of session and events posted on the nysenateuncut account.
The number of Senators using join social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter has increased and the Senators engaging in these media have been growing their followings. The Senators now reach a total of 25,254 people through Facebook and 9306 through Twitter. The NYSenate account itself currently reaches over 3135 people through it’s Twitter account.
