This is the bi-weekly report on the New York State Senate’s web presence. Last week the website received a total of 57986 visits, a slight drop since last the last report. This is most likely due to the fact that this is the second week of August which is a very slow month generally. It had a bounce rate of 59% a small increase and higher than the long term average of 43%. The website had new visitors 68% of the time, more than in last report and more than the long term average of 66%.
The live webcasting of session has drawn 678501 visits, only small growth of about 200 over last period. Archived footage outpaced that growth with an increase of around 8,000 to reach 615399 views. The short clips on the NYSenate Youtube account are about 9 times more watched than the full videos of session and events posted on the nysenateuncut account.
The number of Senators using Facebook and Twitter accounts linked to NYSenate.gov remained constant at 35 and 23 respectively. Using social media the Senators now reach a total of 25805 people through Facebook, using accounts linked to NYSenate.gov and 13629 through Twitter accounts linked to NYSenate.gov. This increase in FB friends/fans puts the total higher than it was two reports ago prior to last report's drop. The NYSenate account itself currently reaches over 4000 people through its Twitter account.
