Second grade students at Norman J. Levy-Lakeside Elementary School in Merrick had the chance to offer their ideas for new laws to their state legislators, when Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) recently visited the school to talk about government.
Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough explained to the children what their roles are as state legislators and how new laws are made. Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to share their ideas for new laws and ask questions.
"It was really great to hear all the ideas and questions that the children had," said Senator Fuschillo. "I hope that the students enjoyed this visit as much as I did."
