Albany, N.Y., March 22--State Senator George Winner (R-C-I, Elmira) reminded area residents today that the American Cancer Society of Elmira and the Rochester-based Be The Match Foundation will sponsor a two-day Bone Marrow Registration Drive later this week.
“It’s a great cause and an incredibly meaningful effort for potential recipients and donors alike,” Winner said.
Winner noted that the upcoming drive is being organized by Corning resident Ed Mancini, a Bone Marrow candidate and cancer survivor. Mancini was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma 10 years ago.
