Senator Jim Alesi (R- Perinton), a member of the Senate Higher Education Committee, and Senator Joseph Robach (R,C,I,WF-Greece) recently invited Senator Kenneth P. LaValle, Chairman of the Senate Higher Education Committee, to sponsor a "Listen In" discussion at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

The public forum, which was held October 24th at the Golisano Auditorium at RIT, included participation from local students, parents and faculty. The goal of the forum was to hear the public's concerns regarding crucial higher education issues such as tuition, financial aid, and campus safety.

"It is vitally important that as Senators we receive impute from students and academic professionals on issues that matter to them," said Senator Alesi. "Due to the ever changing nature of higher education, these discussions will help the Senate become more responsive to important issues facing those who wish to further their education."
