State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) announced today that the Village of Monticello will receive $400,000 in funding for its successful Downtown Commercial Building Improvement Program.
"I am pleased to announce this State aid," stated Senator Bonacic. "State support for downtown revitalization projects to our localities is vital to the economic health and well-being of all of our residents."
Senator Bonacic said that the Small Cities grant to the Village of Monticello will implement the final phase of its Downtown Commercial Building Improvement Program, which involves improvements to vacant commercial buildings. The program will provide loans to 15 small business owners and will create 30 jobs for the area.
"The added expenses of revitalization projects, while much-needed, would be too much for our residents to bear without State assistance," concluded Senator Bonacic.
