State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) welcomed to Albany the valedictorians, saluditorians, and honored students from over 30 school districts in the 42nd Senate District to honor them in an all-day event at the Capitol.
"These students worked very hard to put them at the top of their classes. They deserve to be recognized for their efforts and achievements," Senator Bonacic stated.
The Excellence in Education Day begins with coffee and dougnuts for students and their families followed by presentations by Senator Bonacic, the Lieutenant Governor, SUNY New Paltz Provost David Lavalle, SUNY Delhi Dean of Enrollment, Lawrence Barrett, and Don Ross, Deputy Commissioner of New York State Empire State Development.
Senator Bonacic said the students will be honored by the full New York State Senate during the first order of business during today’s Session; then the students and their families will be treated to a Capitol tour and a pizza lunch.
"It is an honor for me to have these fine young men and women here in the Capitol. They are our future leaders. We can all take pride in their outstanding achievements," stated Senator Bonacic.
