On Sunday, June 3, Senator Serrano celebrated Roosevelt Island's 29th Annual Seniors Day Open House.
"It's such a pleasure to be with you all today," said the Senator. "There is no community as strong as Roosevelt Island, and we are working hard to preserve it."
"We have faced serious problem at Eastwood since the complex was privatized. We are making progress in resolving these problems, but we still have a long way to go," he said.
The Senator encouraged residents to contact his district office with any questions or concerns. "I am committed to protecting all residents of Eastwood, and the disabled and senior communities that have thrived on this island."
The event featured food, dance and a raffle competition. Also on hand were Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Councilmember Jessica Lappin, and RIOC President Steve Shane.
